Fire broke out in Comilla Export Processing Zone (EPZ) yarn factory RN Spinning Mills Limited on Monday night. The fire service 10 units brought the fire under control. It is believed that the fire came from electric short circuits. But no casualties occurred in the fire.
Yesterday the fire started at 9:30 pm. At the time of the work of the second shift employees were finished, the third shift employees were preparing to work. Fire broke out in a moment. After getting the news, at least 10 units of EPZ’s Fire Service, Comilla, Barura, Chouddagram, Chandina and various other places started work on the fire. The fact that there was a factory of fire, the fire spread quickly. Today, the fire comes under control at six o’clock in the morning.
Comilla’s Deputy Commissioner of the fire supervised the fire work. Abul Fazil Mir, District Superintendent of Police Syed Nurul Islam and General Manager of EPZ Hafizur Rahman.
It was found in the factory, the factory machine was burnt, the yarn burned. The deployment wall collapsed. The building of the steel was burnt to the fire. RN Spinning Mills Ltd’s Deputy Manager (Administration) Shahidul Haque said that all the precious machines of the factory were burnt. But no one was injured. There is no scope for fire in 16 blocks except for short circuits. There is no kitchen here.
Shibu Ranjan Das, commercial manager of Comilla EPZ, said that cotton was made from cotton in this factory. In 2006-07, the factory was built on 16 plots with about eight acres of land. Among the 47 domestic and overseas factories of Comilla EPZ, a native factory at RN Spinning Mills Limited. Factory owner Abdul Kader Faruq is currently out of the country. There are 1,200 workers working here. Yesterday at 10 pm shift 300 workers to work. The fire is already there.
